Claret School Batch ’91 prepares for grand reunion

As part of its Silver Jubilee celebration, Batch ’91 of Claret School of Quezon City recently held a Pledge Night at Alhambra Grill and Restaurant in Quezon City to raise funds for the 49th Grand Alumni Homecoming (GAH) on October 15, 2016 at the school quadrangle.claret-school-coat-of-armsThe event was marked by an evening of acoustic music provided by Claret alumnus Kiko Verzosa, a former member of the Free Verse band. During this time, the same batch also announced its search for the 50 Golden Achievement Awardees that has been adopted by the Claret School Alumni Association.

Estien Quijano, project director and batch representative, said the mechanics and criteria for the search are still being finalized, but the next phase of the project will be turned over in 2017 to Batch ’92 that will host the 50th Anniversary of Claret School in October 2017.claret-1024x576Quijano (second from left) with the other members of Claret School Batch ’91.

“We admit that putting things together for such a momentous event like the GAH is a gargantuan task. Although the graduates have pursued different paths, are based in different geographical locations, and are busy with their respective lives, they have kept the lines of communication open and continue to practice the core values of ‘Scientia Maxime Cum Virtute’ (Knowledge is Best With Virtue) to unite and pursue our goal for the Golden Jubilee celebration,” Quijano said.

“The prime movers of Batch ‘91 who have committed their time, talent, and treasures are determined to pursue this heritage that they intend to hand down to the younger Claretian generation. Being the record holder for the most number of attendees from a batch during the school’s 40th GAH in 2007, they intend to foster camaraderie and brotherhood in each Claretian batch,” he added.

In line with this, Batch ‘91 has partnered with several organizations like Lumina Events Management to make this year’s GAH a success. Apart from tapping the services and resources of companies or businesses owned by batch members, the group has also turned to friends and colleagues for support.
